I would like to explain the origin of Phoenix Events, LLC.

In October, 2011, I turned 50. This was significant for me in that I was glad to have made it this far. I had family and friends who never made it to this milestone, so I felt very blessed, especially to arrive at this water mark in good health. Turning 50 really got me thinking. My mom died when she was 58 years old, so by a genetic calendar, I figured I maybe had 8 years left. When Steve Jobs died some weeks before my birthday, he was just 56 years old. After he passed, I discovered his famous 2005 Stanford Graduation Speech, urging all to “Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish” and to “Follow your instinct.” He assured the audience if they did so, that they would one day be able to connect the dots, but for now they should follow their instinct. He urged all to use death as a motivator. Knowing that I was six years short of 56, I didn’t hesitate to follow his advice.
